I was just wondering if there is a platform for trading precious metals? Something like a forex platform. I was so happy to find this – depends in part on what you mean when you say trade precious metals. If you're referring to buying futures contracts, yes, most brokers, you can buy precious metals – however, these contracts are essentially cash settled for the sake of simplicity, so you must not hold metal when they expire. If you want to take physical delivery, you need to trade something like the NYSE Liffe Precious metals contracts – just be forewarned that even the mini contracts are still quite large – for example, gold is a 33 oz bar, you'll return over $ 34,000 today. Most brokers will still be trying to cash settle, then Next to supply a certificate, and must be instructed to provide you with physical delivery, which they do not really want to do. You will be able to get "wholesale" price effect, since the futures contract, you can cut out the middlemen such as precious metals dealers, etc.
