Sandra Your Questions About Trading Signals Hand

Sandra asks…

Who are the people on the trading floor of the NYSE? What are they doing?

When the news does any story about the stock market, they almost always cut to a stock video clip of people on the NYSE trading floor gathered around those kiosks.

These people are looking around a lot of flashing hand signals and making frantic phone calls. Who are these people and what are they doing? What is their job title? What role to they play for their income?

In addition, what are each of those circle shaped kiosks? Is there one for each sector, or are they some kind of grouping? What do those things do?

admin answers:

They are called specialist, and some are traders and others newscasters. The specialist are like market makers for individual stocks, they pair up the buy and sell orders and set the price accordingly. The NYSE is the only market that does that, the NASDAQ is all computerized and quite, you don’t have people yelling and running around like crazy people. The rumor is the NYSE will be changing to the NASDAQ method in the near future.

Laura Your Questions About Trading Signals Hand

Laura asks…

How does open outcry method work in trading?

many commodities exchange still use open outcry method for trade. I want to know how do brokers in the pit take order etc, communicate through hand signals etc. how are the orders being processed and verified. basically how does it work???
i am aware of what it is. what i want to know..how are the ordes placed as in the details of the process.

admin answers:

Open outcry is the method by which some trading centres work. Mostly all in the US, most other countries use electronics.

Open outcry is where there is a physical place, (NYSE for example). That the people involved with trading houses and companies, as well as some individuals congregate. Its a very loud environment where you scream out orders and they get matched with other orders. The problem with this is that you have to be at the place physically and really only benefit if you have lots of money and heaps of experience at trading there.

Most individuals trade electronically, the internet has made it possible. You place an order to buy with your broker, who makes the order on your behalf and it is matched by computer to `a sell order.

Sharon Your Questions About Trading Signals Hand

Sharon asks…

should the Cleveland Browns trade for Mike Vick?

Vick, has made it clear he wants to start. The Browns on the other hand, have terrible signal callers. I say enough with this Michael Vick easing his way back to stardom. HE PAID HIS TIME FOR THE CRIME, VICK SHOULD START. What do U think?

admin answers:

LMFAO

He would do good, but Cleveland is hella hostile.

Maria Your Questions About Trading Signals Hand

Maria asks…

What is his problem? Mixed signals.?

High school.
He’s a bit of a charmer. cocky. When i first met him he would come in & sit with me to talk in the mornings, i’m always there early. We traded numbers, eventually started being more friends. one day he asked me to rub his back, i did it. Now its constant. I do it everyday practically. He’s shared his food with me, made me walk with him to his locker everyday. Eventually he breaks up with his girlfriend. I tell him i like him & he completely tells me he likes me as a friend & nothing more. winter break comes up & 3 days in he comments on my FB “note to the world, this chick kicks ass, just saying.” & it made my night. He’s been talking to these two girls & one of them is psycho & the other is a bit young. A few days before break ends, he wants to hang out with me. I’m up for it. i go to his house, meet his parents, watch a movie with him, rub his back & he took his shirt “half way” off so i could rub his back. The psycho calls, gets him upset. he gets ready to take me home & his mom makes me meet his grandmother and her friend. i walk out the door, we get in the car & we talk about whats going on with him & the psycho girl, he told me a deep secret about him i never would have guessed. i felt a connection there but he said “just friends” and we never hung out again after that.. so now at school i see him in the mornings, and at lunch. i dye my hair, he says it looks nice, notices i’m wearing lip gloss, notices what i wrote on my hand, he ran his fingers through my hair once. he calls me when something wrong. tells me my bf’s a jerk & i deserve better. he messes with me all the time. everyone says it seems like he likes me. but does he? he doesn’t walk with me after lunch although my class is a few feet away from his, he likes these two other girls… but yet he does things to keep me guessing…what should i do?

admin answers:

It could be that he does like you, maybe not fully, but a little bit at least from the sounds of it, but he isnt sure. Maybe hes been hurt alot in the past and doesnt want to be hurt again? Or it could be possible that he doesn’t want to destroy the friendship for whatever reason.
For now i’d leave it as a friend, but i would slowly get around to talking to him about it, what if you guys hang out more? Go watch a movie, go to a theme park kind of thing. If he seems to be like nervous or whatever, you could even say as friends do you want to go and see a movie?
But yeah =] just take baby steps and lead up to talking to him about it =]

What do you think hardworking MS-13 gang members caught roaming San Diego streets?

The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended a member of a brutal Salvadoran gang, MS-13, who was nabbed as he walked along a busy San Diego street, the agency reported today.

Border Patrol agents questioned the man, who admitted to entering the country illegally. The probable gang member was booked and taken to an immigration detention center for processing.

Agents discovered the man had a criminal record tying him to the Salvadoran MS-13 gang of Mara Salvatrucha. The arrested man had many tattoos that MS-13 members often permanently inked on their bodies. One tattoo happened to be a three-point symbol used by hardcore MS-13 members, according to Border Patrol.

The MS-13 gang formed in 1980 in El Salvador and currently has approximately 70,000 members worldwide who work with many of the Mexican drug cartels, according to the FBI.

The reach of MS-13 now encompasses the United States, Canada, Mexico as well as other Central American countries. They distinguish themselves with specific tattoos, hand signals and brutal violent retributions.

According to the FBI, MS-13 operates in 42 U.S. states with 10,000 members inside America many who commit a wide variety of criminal offenses within the drug trade like murder, rape, prostitution, robbery, kidnapping, carjacking and home invasions.

The media release did not name the man arrested who is being held in jail awaiting his court case and phone calls today went unreturned regarding the man’s identity.

admin answers:

A lot of people desperately want the narcotics those people bring north and they wouldn’t give it a good answer if they had to.

And yes.. What is this guy doing on our streets at this time and point? You have to consider the idea that sabotage can be a reason for those people.

Your Questions About Money Trading For Dummies

Donald Your Questions About Money Trading For Dummies

Donald asks…

Do most people lose money trading stocks or gain it?

How can people lose money while trading stocks, i dont really understand it. If im going to invest in a company i will invest in a company that i know it will give me profits and i willl do a lot of research before investing in this company. Even if the company is not gaining much profit for the mean time, i will just hold it until it is back on track (i wouldnt mind holding onto it til 3 or 4 years), so i dont understand why people lose money by trading stocks.

One more question, if there is a slight change on my shares price of 5% in few minutes after i buy it. Should i resell it? and does the percentage of the shares change everyday? Ten points for the best answer. I hope i dont get any comments from people that tend to make fun of those who want to learn, i know this place is full of intelligent people but it has too many dummies. Thanks.

admin answers:

Losing money trading stocks is very easy, especially if you get a tip on a stock. By the time you get a tip and move in, everybody else has been there. Entry and exit (or partial exit) are as important as picking the right stock. Stocks are subject to market conditions as well as the analysts expectations, come in pennies short on the wrong day and you could lose 10-20%.

The 5% question is interesting and depending on how many shares and the price of shares, I might sell 1/3 of my position and if it went up another 5% the same day another 1/3. I take out partial profits on the way up and move my stop on the last 1/3 to entry or higher.

Maria Your Questions About Money Trading For Dummies

Maria asks…

How do you become a proffesional Stock trader?

i want to make money from trading in the stock market. i 17 and slowly learning how it all works by reading the book “investing for dummies“.

but surely proffesional traders who are millionaires e.g warren buffet) didnt all of a sudden trade and become rich. What courses did they do at college, university etc?

thanks (england)

admin answers:

First, you learn how to spell “professional.”

You don’t need a college degree to trade stocks. You do need securities licenses, though, and in order to get them, you have to work for a brokerage firm who will sponsor you.

Mandy Your Questions About Money Trading For Dummies

Mandy asks…

Doe’s this seem like a good investing/trading strategy? If not, what is?

I am 19, still young, very ambitious with my money goals, and a very aggressive style investor/trader, i.e. willing to take enormous risks, but with good odds in my favour. Anyway does the following seem like a good investing/trading strategy:

1. I’ve learned the mechanics of buy-and-hold already, so that’s fine… I understand fundamental and the basics of technical analysis.

2. I’ve been reading Swing Trading For Dummies, and have been practicing swing trading strategies, live, in the underlying stock market, and will continue this way for at least 3 to 4, maybe 5 years until age 24.

3. Once I have made sure I know how to swing trade properly in the underlying share market with the 3, 4 or 5 years experience I mention by age 24, I will then move onto more advanced trading techniques such as using CFD’s to leverage my capital, and with swing trading – again as I did the underlying shares, swing trade with CFD’s on individual stocks for higher returns.

Does this sound like a good investing/trading strategy to you for a UK based investor in your opinion?

Sorry my question is so long but I need someone’s opinion ;D

admin answers:

Sounds Good, I’m no expert…..Start with “Paper Trades”..seriously..Don’t label yourself, use whatever works, when it works, if you get married to a ..routine/strategy… It will eventually come back to bite you…You can do it all..swing trade, momentum trade, even Investments that you keep a year or more, it’s all reliant on the trend of the Index and sector related to the market and your type of stocks..The markets trend dictate your moves, if nothing else interferes.

Chris Your Questions About Money Trading For Dummies

Chris asks…

Have ’99 gmc suburban 4wd. Gas gage doesn’t work. Can I fix this? Not much money and a dummy about this. Help

I’m gonna trade or sell. I have replaced radiator, fuel pump, water pump, transmission, tires, and ecm in less than ayear. Has 165000 miles. AC just went out. So, I need ac and gas gage fixed. What is the best thing to do? Other than this it’s like new because I have replaced all of the parts. My dad is offering to help me pay for a new one so I am going to take him up on it. I have 4 young children and I guess he’s worried about us in the suv. Please help. also the flasher button all of a sudden won’t work. Anything on this for little dumb girl with no money.
I replaced the fuel pump. What is a gas sender? Could it be a fuse? And not only do I have 2 sets of twins 9 year olds and 8 year olds, I drive horribly and that GMC has been great. I just don’t want that heavy of a vehicle anymore and it’s difficult to park most of the time. I would keep it but like I said my father is offering to get me a new vehicle so I want this one to be good for the person who ends up with it.

admin answers:

That last post was lame. Suburbans are legendary for their reliability, especially the GMCs. Although, 165K is a lot of miles for any vehicle.
Unfortunately, the gas sender is probably bad which is in your gas tank. The easiest would be to replace the pump assembly which would cost around $150 + labor for new. Maybe $50 from a junk yard + labor.
It is a few bucks, but take a minute and look under your GMC and see how it’s built like a tank compared to some toyota. Remember that when you’re driving your 4 children around town when it snows.

Linda Your Questions About Money Trading For Dummies

Linda asks…

Value investing or Trading?

I’m 14 years old and i’m an advocate for corporate Finance. I have read many books such as Value Investing for DUMMIES, The intelligent Investor, Reading Financial reports for DUMMIES, and even some tutorials on Investopedia.com. Finally, my question is are Value investing ways outdated and our we in a makret of pure trading. It seems that everyone is turning to trading and quick capital gains, but I have a love for the ways of Value Investing and I beileive I could be a very successfu Value Investor. Should I take on Trading techniques because it’s the popular technique or is there still money to be made in Value Investing?

admin answers:

You should do what you are most interested in which would be value investing.

You should NEVER take on any endeavor just becasue it is ‘popular.’

That said, value investing is bit of a redunancy. When you are investing, you are ALWAYS looking for value! Trading is either speculating or just what it is, trading, with a whole different methodology for seeking profit. The banks are the ones making the big bucks off your trading by charging commission or market makers making money on the spread with their profits often dependent on the volume they trade with little concern for the financial health of a company.

There will always be lots of money to be made in value investing. That’s like asking if there will be money to be made in business. Except the beauty of investing is that you let other people do the hard work, you just have to have the capital and assume some of the risk.

Hope this gives you some insight.

Your Questions About Online Currency Trading

John Your Questions About Online Currency Trading

John asks…

currency trading for beginner…?

how do i get started with currency trading? are there any online courses anyone could recommend? has anyone a success story to share? what are the main points i need to know? do i have to invest more than 1000 pounds to get started? any help appreciated… thanks.

admin answers:

You pretty much need to understand the amount of worth, to whatever you plan to exchange it to. Easy as that. Then you need to follow, how much it changes.

You buy foreign currency, while it is low. You hold on to that, till it jumps in price. Enough till you make a profit. It’s up to you, to figure out how much to buy. Depends on how much you are willing to lose, and how long you are willing to wait.

I would try it, with a few different currencies, that way you can up your chances. If the currency you chose, does not raise in price, hold on to it longer. If after a year, you see no change, get your money back. If within that year, it has a slow, but constant raise, hold on to it. If you see a dramatic raise, sell it off for profit.

After a while, you will get the hang of it, and you should see a profit within a few months, if you are lucky.

Michael Your Questions About Online Currency Trading

Michael asks…

Currency Trading?

I currently trade on the stock market but I am interested in currency trading. I would like to know if it is similar to trading stock in which you trade using an online broker and if so what brokers are the best to use with the lowest commission fees?

admin answers:

Hi,

Currency trading is similar to stock trading and all technical and fundamental analysis is approcimately the same. You just have to know that curreny pairs always go up and down.

Usually forex brokers don’t charge comission fees. They gain from spread. You should find brokerage company with smallest spread.

I could introduce you to one brokerage company in Austria that allows to trade from same account currency (forex), commodities, metals and cfd on shares; total 500 instruments available. Currency spread from 1 pip. If you open trading account under my referral I provide you for free with trading techniques that I successfully use for several years. If you are interesting please pm or e-mail me (press my name) and I provide you with further details. Please note I’m not related with the company but I have rights of Introducing Broker

Jenny Your Questions About Online Currency Trading

Jenny asks…

Currency trading as a foreigner?

I’d like to do FOREX trading in the US or the UK from geographic locations outside of these regions using online accounts such as Paypal or Moneybookers. Is that possible?

admin answers:

Yes you can. Just be sure you have an active accounts of the two medium. (paypal or moneybookers) However, the amount you will earn via these two medium is much lesser compared when you are really trading online because paypal or moneybookers have different amount conversion just like banks. If the market is 1euro-1.415$, paypal could have 1 euro-1.215$. There is really difference though.
